Pivotal Academy of Dance is excited to introduce our elite performance company, Vitality Dance Company.  

 

What is Vitality Dance Company?

  

VDC is a dance company for the experienced dancer ages 9 and up. Our mission is to  create an elite group of dancers that value not only community involvement through  performance and volunteer work, but also through expanding their knowledge and appreciation of the arts. We want to open these dancers to the world of dance outside our studio doors and let them experience classes with master teachers as well as a chance to compete with their team.

VDC Audition Requirements:
 

  • Must be 9 years of age or older as of Jan. 2024

  • Must complete a 15 hour Punch Card & the Ballet Intensive to audition in August

  • $25 Audition Fee & VDC Application due at the time of audition

  • Audition Date: Saturday, August 12th

    • Dancers must arrive 30 minutes prior to their audition time to warm up on their own. 

    • ​Registration Closes Wednesday, August 9th​

  • 2023 - 2024 VDC Company Members will be announced within 24 hours.

    • All new company members will be set up a one on one parent/dancer meeting with Ms. Jade prior to the first rehearsal.

Expectations of our Company Members:

Conventions/ Competitions

  • VDC will have the opportunity to attend multiple dance conventions through out the year.  Some of the conventions will have competition opportunities for solos, duets, trios and small groups. Conventions are optional for all our dancers.

  • VDC Company members will attend THREE to FOUR dance competitions as a team. We will also have optional competition options for solos, duets, trios etc. We are lucky to live in a city where the arts are highly valued and received. 


Class Requirements

  • Must take 3 classes at PAD during the 2023 - 2024 School Year. One of which MUST be Ballet.

  • Members can only compete in a genre they take class in. (EX: Must take Hip Hop to compete in a Hip Hop routine. Must take Tap to compete in a Tap routine)

 

Rehearsal Requirements

  • Company rehearsals are held on Saturday or Sundays. â€‹

    • Company members will rehearse THREE to FOUR times a month. (Approx. 9 & up)

    • Company members will receive a schedule two months at a time to allow for planning etc.

  • VDC company members must notify the director/instructor of any absences for company rehearsals by email or phone. Absences need to be kept to a minimum.


Solo, Duet and Trio Requirements (OPTIONAL)

  • All solos, duets and trios must be approved by the director.

  • $75 per hour while learning choreography (Minimum of 3 hours)

  • $40 per hour for cleaning

  • Must schedule TWO half hour or more rehearsal sessions per month

  • No instructor required

  • Studio Usage Fees will apply. Approx. $10 per half hour


Uniform & Required VDC Attire

  • VDC Backpack - $50- $100

  • VDC Jersey - $50- $55

  • VDC Jacket - $75 - $95

  • VDC Team Shirt - $20

  • Rehearsal attire: Proper dance attire. No Running Shorts!

  • Leotard (any color), Hot Shorts, Leggings

  • Hair pulled back


VDC Company Fees and Tuition​

  • Company members - $75 VDC Tuition per month (3 - 4 rehearsals per month)

  • Costume Fees - $65 per routine

  • Competition Fees - $55 - $65 per routine depending on competition

  • Competition Media Packages - $30 - $50 per competition

  • Guest Choreography Fees - PAD will pay a portion of the choreography fee and the remaining amount must be paid by the dancers participating in that particular routine.
